Ground-Breaking Medical Technology in Artery Disease Treatment

The company was founded to develop a catheter-based solution that treats the diseased tissue without causing restenosis. MML, along with industry experts, believes its products are a natural step in the evolution of treating artery disease. The company has developed novel, patent-pending disposable catheter that uses Guided ReShaping Technology (GRST) a stand-alone angioplasty treatment which precisely treats atherosclerotic disease from within an artery. The catheter can work with available intravascular imaging systems so a physician can evaluate the disease, monitor the progress and precisely see the results real-time. This stand-alone device involves no catheter exchanges - saving significant time and money. Previous attempts using energy, from over a decade ago, were unsuccessful because they did not target the diseased tissue specifically nor tightly control the energy delivery. MML’s catheter system was designed to deliver the appropriate therapy only to diseased tissue. MML will first introduce its products in the periphery to treat the most severe cases of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) in the patient’s legs where stent deployment isn’t a viable option. The U.S. market opportunity for MML in treating the severe cases of PAD is over $600 million annually based on 250,000 bypass surgery procedures in the legs and an estimated selling price of $2,400 per device. MML will then enter the coronary market with a U.S. opportunity of $1.8 billion annually based on 750,000 procedures and a similar selling price.

Game-Changing Search Engine Technology

SRT seeks to make a radical change in the search engine market. The company is developing a new search engine that hopes to bring searching & indexing back to the original roots of the internet. The company has developed a new set of algorithms and ranking rules to help assist in developing a search engine that is more accurate than the current search engines. The truth is that someone who is searching the Internet isn't interested in how many times a word appears in a page, how close together they were, or how many people linked to the page. They are just looking for sites that have to do with the keywords they typed. All too often, search engines return 50 variations of exactly the same page because the search terms appeared in it or it was linked to by a number of people. Entire industries have sprung up across the Internet to help increase the rankings of sites within the major search indices. Spammers have learned to manipulate the search engines to display their sites for totally unrelated keywords. The major search engines are caught in a war with spammers and site optimizers. The need for a new search engine, new indexing rules and a new look is desperately needed. SRT plans to alleviate these problems plaguing search engines. The company raised its first round of financing in March of 2004 and is planning for a beta release of it's technologies at the end of the summer of 2004. SRT is managed by an accomplished team of executives and is headquartered in Boston, MA.
